Maura Radicioni
Interpreter, trainer and researcher

Maura Radicioni

My name is Maura Radicioni, and for over twenty-eight years I have been working as a conference interpreter - simultaneous, consecutive, chuchotage - at conferences, congresses, institutional meetings, medical conventions, workshops, seminars, international meetings, board meetings, corporate events, assemblies and training courses both in Italy and abroad, and I boast over 3000 interpretation days. I also work as a liaison interpreter for corporate meetings and at trade fairs, and as a translator.

Education and training

I work as a freelancer, but there's more than that: I am also a lecturer and researcher. Since 1999, I have in fact been teaching on three-year degree and master's degree courses at universities where professional interpreters and translators are trained, as well as on higher education courses. And the stimuli of interpreting, both practised in person and taught in academic contexts, pushed me towards research, eager to explore contexts and practices of interpreting and intercultural communication in both conference and emergency and crisis settings. Since 2017, I have been a researcher and trainer of interpreters working in humanitarian and emergency contexts and have published several contributions on these topics with leading publishers in the field. I have a PhD in interpreting studies from the University of Geneva and my research areas range from interpreting to interpreting didactics, from intercultural communication to the use of new technologies and AI for interpreting in the above contexts.?

Simultaneous, consecutive, chuchotage, liaison/dialogue interpreting, translations, revision, post-editing, transcriptions.
