I have been working as an interpreter and translator for over 20 years. In 1997 I graduated from the from the school of interpretation and translation at the University of Bologna, Forlì Campus (ex-SSLMIT, now DIT - Department of Interpretation and Translation). I then studied at the University of Innsbruck (Institut für Translationswissenschaft) and was further trained on specialized lexicons and terminology at EURAC, the European Academy Bozen.
I provide the following services in my working languages in both Italy and abroad: conference interpreting, consecutive interpreting, chuchotage (whispered interpreting), business negotiations and dialogue interpreting, as well as translations and end-to-end language consultancy. I have worked as a free-lance interpreter at congresses, conferences, seminars, business meetings, and conventions, and have translated and interpreted for companies, Professional Congress Organizers (PCO), government agencies, universities and international organizations. I have interpreted for the FAO and the OECD and worked as an external translator for the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Translation from 2009 to 2020. I currently work as freelance translator for the Translation Centre for the Bodies of the European Union in Luxembourg and for the Council of Europe, providing them with translation services since 2014 and 2017 respectively.
Along with my professional free-lance career, I have taught for and done research at universities and specialized schools: teaching and mentoring in the 3-year degree as well as in the 2-year specialization courses with the faculty at the University of Bologna, Forlì campus, at the DIT - Department of Interpretation and Translation for more than 15 years; teaching interpreting at the University of Macerata, Department of Humanities, School of Linguistic Mediation for three years; and teaching English as LSP at the Università Politecnica delle Marche, School of Medicine, for two years. I am currently doing research with the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting (FTI) at the University of Geneva, where, since February 2018, I have been working on a project that deals with interpreting within humanitarian organizations as part of a Ph.D. interpreting research program.
Because I strongly believe in the importance of lifelong learning, I take regular training courses on subjects that are connected to my professional and academic interests. Since 2003 I have been a qualified member of the Italian association for interpreters and translators AITI (Associazione Italiana Traduttori e Interpreti), with certified abilities as a conference interpreter and translator.
Furthermore, I am UNI 11591:2015 certified (Professionals operating in the field of translation and interpretation). I put my professional abilities and my experience at the service of my clients, so that their events are assured success, and their communication needs are fully met.
